While there seems to be no shortage of traditional (some might say outdated) looking exterior wall sconces, finding a reasonably priced modern looking sconce can be a challenge. I liked the fact that this light is really an indirect light (meaning that in use you really can't see the light source itself, just the light reflecting off the surface on which this light is mounted). It adds a nice look and is easier on the eyes. This light feels fairly well built at least in terms of the materials. The black metal portion of the fixture is pretty stout. It is clearly designed to be used with a standard US wall junction box (unlike some foreign-made lights that don't understand that US code requires a junction box when connecting line voltage wires). The light is bright, but not a cold blue light. I was hoping that it might be dimmable, but not only is it not dimmable (at least not using a standard Lutron Diva DVCL-153P LED dimmer switch), but it won't even turn on if the dimmer switch is at full brightness, so there must be some sort of conflict with the switch and the LED driver in this fixture. I'm not deducting points for this because it wasn't advertised as dimmable, but it's a shame that it isn't.As with all fixtures that have built-in LED light sources, I hope that this light fixture lasts, because you can't just replace the bulb like with other fixtures. Just know that if you purchase this light, if/when it goes bad, you're going to have to replace the whole fixture (or do a whole bunch of work to retro-fit new LEDs and/or driver).
