If you use outdoors, please use caulking to seal the upper 2/3 between the low voltage step lights and the mounting surface after installation for the best water seal performance. The outdoor stair lights are integrated with LED chips, eliminating the need for frequent bulb changes.

got these for some outside stairs and they worked great and give off a good amount of light at night and the colour of the light is good. ***PLEASE NOTE*** buy the lights before you start your job they DO NOT FIT all electrical boxes so I took 1 light and tested it in electrical boxes before I bought the electrical boxes
Colour is nice 3300K~The light reflects off the fixture. Not 100% downlighting but they do look slick at night. Better installed lower like 2'

These step lights are certainly nice to have as they look really good embedded into the side of the stairs. They need to be professionally installed unless you have a good knowledge of electrical wiring as these need a power source. For outdoor use, some caulking is required to prevent moisture from seeping in and spoiling the wiring. The lighting is bright and reflects well. The installation video provided here is very useful to watch before installing as it shows how to install and wire accurately.
These step lights are solidly built! I was quite impressed with the build quality: all the components are made from metal so they will work great inside and outside.I will be installing these on my basement staircase which is currently under renovation.
