We recently redid our bathroom and it was long over due for a new mirror and this was a great choice, barring one exception, not that much light. The mirror is a nice size and can be oriented in either vertical or horizontal. We opted for horizontal. Installation was a breeze. We already had hardware in place from the previous mirror, which was practically identical to what came with the mirror, so hanging it was a snap. Even if we'd had to install the wall anchors and screws it still wouldn't have taken much more extra time.I thought I was going to have to cut off the plug attachment so I could hot-wire it directly into the previous light fixture's attachments but we opted to just plug it directly into the wall. This was a wise choice for several reasons most importantly because once it was plugged in and switched on we saw just how little light the mirror projected. Don't get me wrong, what light it produces is quite lovely. It's just not enough to do much good other than provide illumination to be a large night light. You're not going to fill the room with light nor really give yourself enough light to put on makeup if that's what you need to do. It looks very stylish but you're definitely going to need another light wherever you install it if you want to be able to see yourself in it.As I've said, the mirror has a great size to and really makes our tiny bathroom not seem as small as it really is. The backlight/rim light around the mirror makes for a lovely presentation and is certainly enough glow to let you see what you're doing to pop in and out of the bathroom in the middle of the night without having to make your eyes adjust to a bright light. Just keep in mind the light is more of an accent light than anything you can use practically. The three different color settings for the light are great so you can match your other fixtures, and the dimmable option (even though full brightness is still pretty dim) is a nice function to have. I can't speak to the anti-fog feature yet, though that's the one item I'm the most eager to test out. Let's assume that it works great. If it doesn't, I'll update my review to counter that assumption. As you can tell I was a little bummed the lighting element of this mirror was a bit of a let down, but it wasn't enough to sour me on the item all together. It looks great otherwise and I'm happy to have it in my house.UPDATE (02/09/24) :Since I posted my review I've had the opportunity to try out the anti-fog element as well as made a few more observations.Regarding the anti-fog, it works well. The heating element behind the mirror that facilitates the anti-fog is roughly about an 11x14" area just off center of the overall mirror. Meaning that when the anti-fog is activated that section of the mirror remains clear while the surrounding area still fogs over. With that said, once you've stopped showering (or producing more moisture in the air) the rest of the mirror catches up and clears fairly quickly. So it's not perfect but it's also not a big deal in the end. It still does what it supposed to do, just a little lopsided at first. Not a deal breaker.Other observations I've made include what the manufacturer considers "frontlit" and "backlit" which is in direct line with my criticism of how NOT bright the mirror illumination really is. The back of the mirror has an LED strip of lights running around the parameter of the mirror. This is what gives the mirror its "backlit" look, making it stand out from the wall aesthetically. What constitutes the "frontlit" portion of the mirror are the exact same lights, which beam through a frosted glass area that frames the entire mirror. Unfortunately the LEDs don't shine directly through that frosted area but merely bounce the light coming off the wall back through the glass. So the wall around the mirror is much more bright than the light coming towards you through the mirror. I wouldn't call that "frontlit" by any stretch. The photo illustrations that accompany this product's listing would make one think there's a bright light shining directly at you when you look in the mirror. The LED strip lights behind the mirror faces outward to the sides, and not towards the wall or away from it. The throw of light is quite far and bright, illuminating part of my shower that's six feet away. Our walls are a dark blue so the bounce coming off the wall isn't that intense. If you had white or off-white walls, or had a smaller bathroom, perhaps this mirror's lighting would be more effective but under these circumstances it's not stellar. With all that said, we still love the mirror and how it looks. It's very sharp and nice. I'm just grateful that we have other sources of light in that room to compensate for where the mirror light fails.Last thing, the buttons. I have no issue with the buttons or how they operate. I just don't like where they're placed. It feels like the almost went out of their way to position t...
